HOTEL RESERVATIONS

The Riviera Hotel offers tournament participants a special room rate of $99 per night single or double occupancy. ALL RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY OCTOBER 24, 2008. Room requests after the cut-off date will be accepted on a space and rate availability basis. Call the Riviera Hotel at 1-800-634-6753. Outside of the United States call 702-734-5110. CALCUTTA AUCTION

Share in the profits when your favorite players win by buying them in the Calcutta Auction. All players in the Championship and Intermediate Divisions will be included. 90% Return. The payoffs will be for the top four players in the Main flight, the top two players in the Consolation and the top two players in the Last Chance.

Players who reenter will maintain the same position in the Calcutta as the original entry.

TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS

1. The Las Vegas Open Backgammon Tournament is by invitation only. The Nevada Backgammon Association reserves the right to refuse entry into the tournament and to refuse access to the premises with no reason required. No entrant will be allowed to play below his or her level.

2. No smoking in the main playing room or in the hallway outside of the playing room.

SIDE EVENTS

Blitz Event

$40 entry fee with 85% return. 5-point matches. Eight-player knockouts will be held from Wednesday, November 12th through Saturday, November 15th. The winner of each round of 8 will receive $120 and qualify for the playoffs. 1st place 70%, 2nd place 30%. Players may win up to two brackets of eight, both of which will be eligible for byes. 5-point matches. Playoffs begin on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

Mini-Match Event

$20 entry fee. 2-point matches, with doubling cube. Re-entries allowed and encouraged. 85% return.

Doubles Tournament

$300 entry fee per team. 7-point matches. 85% return. 1st place 70%, 2nd place 30%. $100 side pool with 95% return.

Super Jackpot

$1000 entry fee to begin in round of 32 starting Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. $2,000 entry fee to begin in round of 16 starting Thursday at 8:00 p.m. 95% return. Full field of 16 will pay 1st place $21,300, 2nd place $9,100. This will be a clock event. However, if both players agree to play without a clock, they may do so.

Limited Jackpot

$500 entry fee to begin in round of 32 starting Wednesday at 2:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m.. $1000 entry fee to begin in round of 16 starting Thursday at 8:00 p.m. 90% return. Full field of 16 will pay 1st place $10,100, 2nd place $4,300. The Limited Jackpot is for players not of a top championship level. The Nevada Backgammon Association reserves the right to disallow any entrant to play below his or her level.

Open Jackpot

$400 entry fee. 90% return. Limited to 16 players not in either Super Jackpot or Limited Jackpot. $100 side pool with 95% return.

SENIORS TOURNAMENT

For 50 and older. $50 entry fee. 85% return. 7-point matches. Single elimination. 1st place - 70% 2nd place - 30%

Saturday $50 Jackpot For Beginners Only

$50 entry fee. 80% return. 7-point matches. Starting time 2:30 P.M. 1st Place - 70% - 2nd Place - 30%

Saturday $100 Jackpot

$100 entry fee. 85% return. ALL PLAYERS NO LONGER IN THE MAIN FLIGHT OR CONSOLATION OF ANY DIVISION ARE ELIGIBLE. 7-point matches. Starting time 2:30 P.M. 1st Place - 70% - 2nd Place - 30%
